Okay, so the comparison is a little bit off, but seriously its a good book, so I’ll just be getting on to the review…..
For the beginner, this book can be the most valuable tool besides your metal detector that you can purchase. The information is presented in a logical, reader-friendly format, utilizing common sense and research as your guides.
Mr. Stout goes into detail with important information, but is never overbearing, and includes a lot of great tips and advice. It’s a straight, right to the point guide to help you get the most out of the hobby.
The seasoned hunter may wonder why I recommend this book, and I think Mr. Stout hit the nail on head right in the preface; suggesting the experienced should review a few of things which may have been overlooked or forgotten about over time—a sort of refresher course for the veteran detectorist.
I had a few “Oh yeah-I forgot about that” moments while reading the book myself.
I highly recommend “In Search of Treasure” for the beginner and veteran detectorist alike.
“In Search of Treasure” is an updated/revised version of Dick Stouts “Where to Find Treasure”.
