This years 24th Annual Best of the Northeast (BONE) Hunt, held the last week of April in New Hampshire reminded me of one of those TV reality shows where they throw a bunch of strangers in a house together, start filming, and see what happens…

Ah, well, there was no drama, sorry to disappoint you, and we didn’t get any of it on video, but you’ll just have to take my word on it that throwing 4 women who love metal detecting in a house together for 5 days only adds up to fun, fun, fun!

Detecting Diary: Weekend 2

Detecting Diary–Weekend 2, April 2017:

I started preparing the night before for our clubs “Fun Hunt” which was secured by one of our club members.

One of the club’s goals this year is to have at least 5 fun hunts.  After forming a hunt committee, there are already a few hunts scheduled, and we are only a few weeks into the detecting season.  So I’d like to say a big thank you to the hunt committee, your efforts are appreciated–Thank you!

Detecting Diary–Weekend 1, April 2017:

After being cooped up all winter, in a miserable state of lackofdetectinitis, I woke up one morning about a month ago and something seemed odd. I looked out the window and thought–there is definitely something different about today. My Mini Schnauzer “Abby” noticed it too. Instead of her normal stance of staring hard at the door, waiting for it to magically open for her, she was pacing in front of it. I quickly threw on a jacket and performed my task as the magic door opener, and she literally sprinted out into the yard.
