Forward this to anyone you know in the metal detecting community.
I love – love – love this hobby, but what on earth was he thinking ? Nobody was bothering him or even asking if it was legal.. In my town nobody bothers me, cops, politicians , no one. Why would I go to a town meeting and open up Pandora’s box ? I truly do not want to seem harsh ,but he did it , he should have left well enough alone . And I repeat I-LOVE – THIS – HOBBY
You know Dennis, that same thought did cross my mind, but apparently he was told he could not detect in parks he had been hunting in with no problem for years, and wanted clarification.
The phrase “don’t poke the bear” comes to mind. Sorry, but now that the topic is in the city’s mind they will ban detecting based on liability alone.
Welcome to America! The land of the not-so-free-anymore.
