The last week and a half has been really tough. According to the doctor, I made it through my surgery with flying colors, but according to my body, I had felt like I just came out of a week of intensive care.
I’m not a stranger to surgery, this now being my eighth cut & fix (omg), but this one really knocked me off kilter. The others were easy, and I expected this to be also. I made the mistake of equating one day surgery with one day recovery. Nothing wrong with having great expectations, right?
I figured, I would go home and rest a bit, then be out detecting in a day or two. The universe was like, no way, you’re not going anywhere, get back in bed and take those pain pills. Looking in the mirror was no picnic either.
However, I am now on the mend, and extremely grateful and appreciative I had someone by my side the whole time to watch over me. I thought I didn’t need the help, but I did. So I would like to say a public thank-you to Antonio, for being there and watching over me. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! You really have no idea how much you helped me, and how much that meant to me.
So, now that I’m on the mend, I’m really excited about the possibility of attending the Nor’easters Catskills Hunt. Of course, I need approval from the doctor, but pending check up, it might be a go. Fingers crossed on that.
And, since the doctor said I may garden, and start to resume activity (woo hoo!), I’m going to go do a little bit of digging with an old friend today, in a safe environment (so I don’t fall on my face in the woods, like usual). Baby steps.
And thanks to all of you who sent their prayers, and wishes my way. They really helped.
Happy Hunting!
Get better quick.
Thanks Bruce-I already feel on the mend.
Great news…we all knew you were one tough gal.
Physically, yes; mentally, maybe.
Good to see you back in action. Hope all goes well.
Best wishes
Thx John!
GET WELL SOON! WISH YOU THE BEST!
Thx Rob-I’m working on it.
Best wishes, Allyson.
Thx for the wishes Charles!
I wish you well …
Thank you John–miraculous recoveries are happening this week, physically and mentally 🙂
HI Allyson- Glad to hear that you are on the mend. Take it slow and be kind to yourself. Let me know about that Nor-easters Catskill Hunt- maybe we could meet up for that !!
Hi Carol–Thx for the wishes, and I would love to go on the hunt, but as of today, it’s not looking like I’m going to be able to make it. If anything changes, I’ll let you know.
